Dundee and The Great War of 1914-1919
On Sunday 24 October 1914 the Battalion received a communication from The War Office that it had been selected for service on the continent.
At 3pm on Sunday 1 November 1914 the following eight-hundred and sixteen Officers and Men of the Battalion boarded the SS Architect at Southampton docks bound for Le Havre, France. They were the first Scottish Battalion of the Territorial Force to be sent abroad during The Great War.
