Transcription of the testament of Robert Andersone,
factor in Campvere,
recorded in the registers of Edinburgh Commissary Court, 12 July 1705

The Testament Dative and Inventar adomiss et quo ad non executa of the debts and soumes
of money pertaining to umq[uhi]ll Robert Andersone factor in Campheire and to the deceist William
Anderson mertchant burges of Ed[inbu]r[gh] his brother german as principall executor nominat and confirmed to him the time of ther deceisses who deceist viz: the said umqu[hi]le Robert in the moneth of 166[ ] years and the said deceist William in the moneth of 168[ ] years ommitted out of the said umq[uhi]ll Robert Andersone his principall confirmed testament and also not execute theruntill be the said deceist William Andersone his brother german principall executor nominat and confirmed to him be the Comm[i]ss[a]rs of Edinburgh upon the twenty day of may 1674: years
And now ffaithfully made and given up be George Monteith sone to the deceist George Monteith
merchant burges of Ed[inbu]r[gh] and executor confirmed to him only executor dative adomissa et not executa Decerned as creditor to the saids umq[uhi]ll Robert and William Andersons In sua far as upon the Eleventh of november 1684: years the said umq[uhi]ll George Monteith elder obtained ane decreet before the Lords of Counsell and sessione against the said umq[uhi]ll William Andersone as executor nominat and confirmed to the said umq[uhi]ll Robert Andersone his brother and other wages Representing him upon the haill passive titles Decerning and ordaining him to make payement to the said umq[uhi]ll George Monteith of the soume of nintein thousand one hunder thretty seaven pound ninteinth shilling eleven pennes scotts money of principall with the a[nnual]rent therof from the terme of mertimess 1682: years Dureing the not payment which was found to be due and restand be the said umq[uhi]ll Robert Andersone to the said umq[uhi]ll George Monteith elder in manner and for the causes mentioned in the said decreet as the samen of the dait for said in itself att more Lenth bears And Whilk soume of nintein thousand one hunder thretty seaven pound nintein shilling eleven pennes scotts prin[cipa]ll with the bygone a[nnual]rents therof is given up and confirmed be the said George Monteith yo[unge]r in ane eik made be him to the principall confirmed testament of the said umq[uhi]ll George Monteith elder his father ither in till he is principall executor confirmed to him As the said conformed testament dated the [ ] day of [ ] 1705 years in it self more fully proports And therefore the said George Monteith yo[unge]r As executor confirmed to the said umq[uhi]ll George Menteith elder his father is only executor dative Adomissa et quoad non executa Decerned as creditors to the said umq[uhi]ll Robert and William
Andersons for payment and satisfactione to him of the forsaid soume of nintein thousand one hunder thretty seaven pound nintein shilling and eleven pennes prin[cipa]ll with the bygone a[nnual]rents therof unpayed and in time Comeing dureing the net payment therof after the tenours of the said decreet and confirmed testament with eick made therto abovementioned in all points And sicklyke for payment of the charges of confirmatione of this prasent testament And that by decreet of the Commessaries of Ed[inbu]r[gh] – As the samen daited the day of June 1705 years bears.

In the ffirst ther wis Restand awand to the saids umq[uhi]ll Robert and William Andersones the time of ther deceisses forsaid and ommitted out of the said umq[uhi]ll Robert his testament and not execute therintill be the said umq[uhi]ll William Andersone principall executor nominat and confirmed
to him in manner forsaid and to the said umq[uhi]ll William himself or as executor confirmed to his said brother or to ane or other of them be the persones Following the soumes of money underwrytten To Witt be Charles Mclean merchant in Invernas for himself and in name and behalf of Robert Barbara William Duff and Duncan Forbes merchants ther Copairtners the soume of seaven hunder twenty five pound one shilling and Eliven pennes and fourt pairt of a pennie Fleyms money As only restand of the principall soume of one thousand two hunder sixtein pound four shilling fleyms money contained in his bond daited the second of aprill 1663: years Granted to the said umq[uhi]ll Robert Andersone payable at Compheire with four hunder pound money forsaid of Liquidat expenses. Together with one hunder and seaventy pound fourtein shilling and three four pairts of ane pennie fleyms money for the a[nnual]rent of the said soume resting from the first of June 1669 till the first of may 1672 which was the time of the said umq[uhi]ll Robert Andersone his deceis with ane proportionall pairt of the said Liquidat Expensis.
Item be the saids Duncan forbes and William Duff by Copairtnershype conforme to ane accompt and missive Letters since the twenty second of october 1662 years three hunder eightie three pound one shilling eleven pennes fleyms money of principall with two hunder nyntie five pound seaventein shilling nyne pennes fleyms money of a[nnual]rent as eight per Cent from the twenty two of october 1662 years to the said first of may 1672 years. Item be the said CharlesMclean by bond daited the eight of aprill 1663 years XX four score four pounds fleyms money principall with ninthein pounds eleven shilling and ten pennes fleyms of a[nnual]rent at 8: per Cent from the first of June 1669: to the said first of may 1672: Extending the said soumes of principall and a[nnual]rent of fleyms money in the haill
to the soume of one thousand six hunder seaventy eight pound seaven shilling nyne pennes which compteing six hunder seaventy three pound six shilling and eight pennes scotts for ilk ane a hunder pound fleyms is in all eleven thousand three hunder one pound three shilling scotts money Item be Ser William Binning of Walyfoord and Isobell Herring by bill of exchange upon John Mitchell in Rotterdan payable to the said umq[uhi]ll Robert Andersone with a protest for not pay[ment]
therof the soume of one thousand five hunder gilders with one hunder and fiftie guilders ten stivers of a[nnual]rent from the twenty nyne of august: 1670: which is the dait of the protest to the
said first of may: 1672: years at six per cent Extending the said principall and a[nnual]rents to one thousand six hunder and fiftie stivers ten stivers which at one pound two shilling scotts the guilder Is one thousand eight hunder fiftein pound eleven shilling scotts money Item be the deceist John
Wilsone skipper in muselburgh by decreet before the Lords of sessione at the instance of the said umq[uhii]le William Andersone dated the twenty fourth of July jajvi seaventy five years seaventy one pound one shilling six pennes Fleyms money which at the rate forsaid extends to six hunder merks scotts money or therby
