The testaments mentioned below relate to people in Veere, recorded in the Commissary Court of Edinburgh, which was the appropriate court of registration for testaments made abroad. The index to the registers of testaments can be searched free of charge on the Scottish Documents website: www.scottishdocuments.com. About 20 testaments relating to Veere have been identified from the index by using search terms such as 'Veere', 'Campveere' (and variations),'Flanders' and 'Zeeland'. Two archivists from the National Archives of Scotland are gradually transcribing those identified so far and the transcriptions will be added to the site over the next few months.
